Marie De Medici is a solid yardstick and Principal Role promises much but another chance is given to MUDAARAAH. John Dunlop's filly made a winning start to her career at Folkestone but quickly made her name for herself at the big tracks when winning a Listed race at Sandown and finishing second in a Goodwood Group 3. Her final start of the campaign was a disappointment but she's bred to get better with age and can bounce back. Marie De Medici finished in front of Gallic Star and should do so again but she appears to have had her limitations exposed and of more interest is Principal Role who looks open to the greater improvement. She held on well to prevail in a bunch finish at Yarmouth on debut but proved that the form was useful when taking third in the Nell Gwyn on her reappearance. There was plenty to like about that performance and she looks sure to be better suited by this longer trip and a big run from her here could help cement her position towards the fore of the Oaks market but her price will reflect that and Mudaaraah is worth chancing at bigger odds.
