WAR DEPARTMENT (NAP) was winning for the first time since his debut over 7f here on Friday but showed a terrific turn of foot and it's unlikely a penalty will anchor him if the blinkers work a second time. Mazzini is still a maiden but has been getting closer again and handles Polytrack so the switch to Tapeta shouldn't pose too many problems. Kenny The Captain was only third behind Slingsby here in June but the Carlisle third has shown the better form since and Tom Sawyer has also been placed over track and trip. Oriental Splendour got off the mark at Pontefract in June but is better over 5f.
