In depth

Verdict

Red Max probably has the best form among the few of these to have raced previously but that does not amount to a great deal and this is likely to go to one of the many newcomers with preference for ARABIAN FLAME, who gets the verdict ahead of Chocolicious and Elmfield Boy. The last mentioned is an American-bred debutant from Richard Fahey's stable and may want the ground to be a shade faster than it actually is so he looks best watched. Bryan Smart's once-raced Dubai Hills is likely to do better over further, while Moon Lightning is likely to appreciate any further rain that may fall but comes from the yard of Mark Tompkins - not known for great success with first time out two-year-old winners. Bryan Smart's Chocolicious is bred to be useful but has an inexperienced apprentice on board and she may want a softer surface so preference is for Arabian Flame. Mick Channon's colt takes the eye on pedigree being by 2000 Guineas winner King's Best out of a half-sister to another 2000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand and she is taken to make a winning start to her career.
