In depth

Verdict

Grand Dream, Beaumont Boy and Red Flare are the three for the shortlist, with Grand Dream taken to come out on top. Alan Swinbank's Beaumont Boy was dropped to selling grade last time and was given a favourite's chance but disappointed in fourth. He is capable of better but is opposed here. Red Flare has run creditably on his two latest starts, in particular when finishing fourth to Jewelled Dagger at Musselburgh last time. The winner scored again on Monday and he can go well. James Given's Grand Dream can take this at a nice price. He was racing for only the third time when finishing sixth in a Ripon maiden last time. The form of that race has worked out well with the winner second in a hot York handicap, and the second scoring next time. Grand Dream will come on for his seasonal re-appearance and can take this.
