Doctor Spin is well treated on official BHB ratings and is entitled to go close in this six-furlong claimer but David Nicholls has made his customary slow start to the campaign and, at forecast odds, he looks opposable. Karl Burke's Chispa is another who is well-in on official ratings and warrants respect, although his form tailed off last season and it is difficult to know how much ability he retains. Stablemate Legal Set comes here fit and in-form from the all-weather and has to be respected, along with another winner on sand this winter Speedfit Free. The selection though is Carlton. John Quinn's gelding comes here fit and from the all-weather, his stable is in good form and he is well treated by the weights despite having to give weight away all round.
