Hugo de Perro (now 8lbs higher) beat Jansue Charlie (now 4lbs better off as he races from out of the handicap) and Robbo (now 8lbs better off) by 17 lengths and four lengths at Kelso last time but has his revised rating and top weight to defy. Vilprano won from a mark of 106 in January (now 104) and is a course and distance winner. Seven-time chase winner, Hugo de Grez (rated 126 at best) is seeking his third straight win but his hurdling form does not match that of his chase form. Joe Luke won off a mark of 93 (now 107) at Uttoxeter but that was more than two-and-a-half years ago. However, he made late headway at Sedgefield last time and it would be no surprise to see him run well, although his bare recent form is not much to write home about. The lightly-raced Little Sport has been given a mark of 115 for his hurdling debut after winning his last two races here, over a half-mile shorter trip. He will have his supporters. Robbo is capable of running well but is enigmatic. It would be no surprise to see Len Lungo's The Phair Crier run well. He was well considered last season but his form tailed off. He also has an absence to overcome. Once again, it is difficult to be confident but the lightly-raced Little Sport could well improve again and gets the vote.
