Whispering Death is on a roll at present and should complete a four-timer, with Ego Trip, Formal Approval, Royal Melbourne and Alfred The Great left to fight it out for the places. Willie Haggas intends to strike while the iron is hot with Whispering Death who bids to collect his fourth win in the space of 19 days. The Newmarket-trained gelding started the ball rolling at Redcar at the start of the month when put over 14 furlongs for the first time, followed up cozily on a return visit last Friday and duly added to that 24 hours later at Catterick. He has another penalty to carry here, but he won with far more in hand than the margin suggests on Saturday, and despite dropping back in distance here, stamina will be needed and he has that in abundance. This big, long-striding sort will relish the finish and should be backed before the handicapper catches up with him. Ego Trip goes on the ground, is in a bit of form at present, and can give the selection most to do along with Formal Approval. The latter stayed on again when outpaced at Catterick and off bottom weight can give a better account, while Royal Melbourne will also benefit from today's conditions. Alfred The Great makes his handicap debut and should be noted in the market, but it will take a good one to stop Whispering Death from scoring again.
