In depth

Verdict

WALTZ DARLING was in good form over hurdles at the end of last year, scoring at Musselburgh in December. He returned to the Flat with a fine effort behind Yeomanoftheguard at Doncaster and can go one better. Carragold was caught close home by Gold Show at Pontefract last week after leading into the straight. He's on the same mark here and must go close with Silvestre De Sousa taking the ride again. Nadema Rose made a winning debut for Mick Channon on soft ground at Yarmouth in July and though well beaten into third on her first start for Keith Dalgleish she will have benefited from the run and has to be on the short-list. Titus Bolt had been hurdling without much luck and probably found 1m1f too short when runner-up to Sartingo at Musselburgh on his return to the level.
