BAVARIAN NORDIC is a hopeful selection to land this handicap with Giant Love and Transmission put forward as the main dangers. The selection broke his maiden tag at the twelfth attempt at Redcar last time out and is now 4lb higher for that but the Ann Duffield yard have been enjoying something of a resurgence in recent weeks and the selection could still be well handicapped despite taking so long to break his maiden tag. Aggressive tactics have twice worked for Giant Love who now races under a 6lb penalty for his Catterick win recently. He has proved himself to be a quirky character in the past but he will not be lacking for stamina come the business end in this testing ground. Transmission seems to have recovered the form which saw him show some promise in maidens last season but remains a maiden after 10 starts. Evelith Regent could never reel in Packers Hill last time but is a bumper winner but his effectiveness on todays ground is the concern. Thornaby Green could prove a threat to all towards the foot of the weights but Bavarian Nordic is given the vote.
