        Verdict

        CARESS THE SOUL is selected to win this opening fillies maiden on the basis of a promising debut at Redcar where she was noted staying on well in the closing stages having raced very green throughout the early stages. The ground is the unknown as with the majority in this field. Allformary was a never nearer second behind the very easy winner Yorksters Girl last time at this venue. The third horse in that maiden had shown some promise previously which gives the form some form of level while Miss Cracklinrosie steps back to seven furlongs having showed some ability in two maiden runs. Market confidence behind Drop The Hammer would make him of some interest while Haulage Lady contested a good maiden last time and not surprisingly was outclassed. Back in against her own sex and at this lowly level Haulage Lady is another to consider but Caress The Soul can land the opener.
