Top-weight JORDAN'S LIGHT is given the vote here ahead of Shifting Gold and The Quiet Genius. Carrying ten stone in these sort of conditions is not usually ideal but this useful dual-performer is used to carrying more weight than most. He is proven on soft ground and is just one pound higher than when third to Herrera at Hamilton last month. On that day he was just behind Shifting Gold who reopposes today on one pound worse terms. Kevin Ryan's gelding ran better there than when previously held behind the selection. Jenny Soba cannot be overlooked as she edges down to an attractive handicap perch, Shekan Star is dropped in the weights following a Beverley flop and Paul Hanagan looks an interesting jockey booking, whilst Hurricane Thomas has a hit and miss profile. The Quiet Genius may not look the most obvious of dangers following some heavy defeats, however this ground and long straight may bring out the best in him and he is now 10lb lower than when starting life in handicaps back in June. Not a race to get heavily involved in, however we'll take Jordan's Light to get back to winning ways.
