In depth

Verdict

Custom Design is the value call over Turbo and Heraldry, while Cooldine Lad put in an improved effort last time out and is one to bear in mind for future reference. Heraldry won a couple of bumpers in good style before being put in his place under a double penalty at Haydock last month. Time may tell that to be a very fair effort and, as a well-bred type, he too has bright future if all goes to plan with him. A market move would be very dangerous to ignore where he is concerned. Turbo has plenty of experience over hurdles and deserved his win at Sedgefield. However, he faces a stiff test on these terms and he needs everything to drop just right for him today. Therefore, we take a chance with Custom Design, who has shown flashes of ability in bumpers and is a sporting option in a race stacked full of potential improvers
