Several hold chances, but Goodricke is proving to be a tough and reliable performer and gets the nod over Intoxicating and the unexposed Potent Heir. The last named had a legitimate excuse on his reappearance, as he went lame near the finish. However, he had previously caught the eye when wining on his debut at Newcastle last September and it is far too early to be writing off the Godolphin-owned colt. Watch the betting where he is concerned. Intoxicating is a consistent sort that had the Irish Guineas on his agenda at one stage. The sights have been lowered with him recently, but he is still held in high regard and is capable of making this a good test. A mention also has to be passed on about Cornus, who is much better than he consented to show at Goodwood last time out. He will be suited by this return to six furlongs and can confirm his superiority over Yajbill on these terms. However, Goodricke has looked the more reliable this term and he can reverse the form of his first encounter with Richard Hannon's charge on 2lb better terms.
