    Verdict

A cracking contest in prospect and one where KERADA is taken to continue Nicky Henderson's fine record with the mares under his care, while there are other serious players including Banjaxed Girl, Queen Poline, Diavoleria and Miss Nightshade. The selection has gone up just 2lbs for a gutsy effort to win over a trip just short of today's at Hereford last time. Today's ground looks ideal for her, she looks to have been laid out for this, and Barry Geraghty has picked her ahead of talented stablemate Topsham Belle, plus other Henderson inmates Ryde Back and Madame Mado, and we should take the hint. Banjaxed Girl represents a yard on top of the world at the moment and she is not opposed lightly. Pilot Sam Twiston-Davies gets on well with the six-year-old, who deserves top weight here after enjoying a winter campaign that includes five wins and a second from six starts. Trip and ground are ideal and it is only the weight on her back that is slightly offputting in such a competitive race. Queen Poline was perhaps asked to go too far when tried here over further in February, but she came back well to beat Ryde Back, among others, at Huntingdon last time and she may represent value given that her stable wouldn't normally make the fashionable category. Diavoleria has been well placed to run up a hat-trick, including a defeat of Alegralil at Doncaster earlier in the month. She meets that rival on the same terms here so there is every chance that she can confirm the form. Asturienne has a bit to prove after her Bangor run, but the step back up in trip looks a positive, while Sure Josie Sure is stepped up in distance and the likely strong pace will put her stamina reserves under extreme pressure. Evella was running a nice race behind Banjaxed Girl when falling at Southwell and confirmed that promise with a Towcester win last time, and Neil King's runner is another who may represent a bit of value against those from the bigger-named yards. Diklers Oscar does not have a huge amount to find with Diavoleria, Miss Nightshade looks likely to continue improving and will need to do so, while Cobbler's Queen has it to do with Kerada with just a 6lb pull for an 11-length reversal last time. As usual this is tough and competitive and Kerada can be head girl.
