Verdict

An interesting opener where we will take MONITOR CLOSELY to score, while Red Junior, All Guns Firing and newcomer Almutawaazin can all go well. The selection steps back up to a mile after going very well in a valuable Newmarket contest last time. He acted well with cut in the ground when making a pleasing debut, the yard has come back to form of late, and he looks the one to beat. Red Junior and All Guns Firing can both improve for their racecourse experiences. The former may well be better when handicapping, while the latter made a pleasing debut until blowing up close to home and that should have taught him plenty in preparation for today. The pedigree of London Bridge suggests that he will be better at three, while Almutawaazin is the more likely to go well as a juvenule and should handle conditions, so he is respected. Monitor Closely is taken to score.
