BLISSFUL MOMENT can live up to his name and provide backers with a thrill; the shortlist consists of Domination, Prince Of Dreams and Gardening Leave in what looks the weaker of the two divisions of the maidens. Sir Michael Stoute's Dynaformer colt looks sure to be popular in the market today following an encouraging first effort at Newmarket. He was slowly away before staying on best of all under hands and heels near the finish and looks a potential improver. The form has mixed messages (first won again since, fifth and seventh have run well, whilst the second and third home have both flopped), however he looks a scopey individual who will improve with each start. Bonded, an Oasis Dream colt, is related to several winners and his sales price increased to 80,000 guineas this year, whilst Count Of Anjou shaped with plenty of promise here on debut and the step up to this distance looks likely to suit. Domination is another who was very green on debut and looks to have a bright future, as does First Fandango who strutted his stuff in the same race that Dancing David won at Newbury. He runs in the Racing Post Trophy over at Doncaster and might give the form a huge boost. Yet another potential improver is Gardening Leave who ran an encouraging race behind Spoken at Salisbury last month. He was a 14/1 chance on that day so not too much was expected but with natural improvement he could run well. High On A Hill's official rating of 73 looks too high for what he has achieved, Out Of Eden is bred to make up into a better three-year-old next season, whilst Balsha and Tafawut both need to step up massively on their respective Newmarket maidens. High Ransom and Streets Of War both represent stables who can ready a newcomer, casting more doubt over an already tricky puzzle, however it is Blissful Moment who receives our tentative nomination.
