Whilst Burnett's form may receive a boost from Sir Pitt in the opening race, we will side with PASTORAL PLAYER here after Hugh Morrison's colt made such a good impression when winning here on debut. A son of the July Cup winner Pastoral Pursuits, the selection caused a mini upset when obliging at 12/1 on his racecourse bow. This seven furlong trip is likely to be at the top end of his stamina range however the yard rate him highly and he can reward their optimism. The top-rated in the line-up is John Ryan's Iver Bridge Lad. A Listed winner and placed in a Group Three, he commands plenty of respect, however he too has stamina questions to answer. Inler was the subject of plenty of positive whispers before his debut romp at Newmarket and could be anything, a comment that also applies to Classic Colori and Burnett following one win from one start each. Cadley Road looks a solid yardstick for the race; he was only beaten by two lengths in the Goffs Million Mile at the Curragh last time out and has the class to play a major hand today. Stablemates Red Badge and Carnaby Street, along with Dubawi Phantom all have a more exposed profile, however the latter especially looks a big danger on his length third in the Solario Stakes. The course and distance winner Critical Moment also warrants respect despite making hard work of his maiden win last time, however in what looks just an average renewal, it is the unexposed Pastoral Player who just edges the vote.
