This is a cracking handicap but FOREST OF DEAN (NAP) should take all the beating again. He landed a bit of a gamble in impressive fashion after a break at Goodwood and was just as impressive when well backed at York, beating Johnny Drama a length-and-a-half with Rise Hall fourth and Victory Command fifth. A tilt at pattern race company probably beckons the the Gosden Great Example hasn’t done much wrong and further improvement may be forthcoming in first-time cheekpieces. Migration, weighted to reverse Sandown running with Hyanna, is another three-year-old who knows where the winning post is. Caradoc and Gibbs Hill both ran well over 1m4f at York with Oasis Prince and course and distance winner Exec Chef adding to the interest.
