Verdict
Mystery Power carries a penalty for winning the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket in July. He was beaten out of sight behind Pinatubo over 7f at Goodwood last time but should be suited by the drop back in trip. Impressor is a likely improver and Pierre Lapin made a winning start at Haydock in May in a race which has produced plenty of winners. Nothing went right for Royal Commando in the Richmond Stakes and he is better than that but it may be significant that Andrew Balding takes on the colts with his progressive filly SHADN. She was a bit unlucky in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood last time having beaten a good yardstick in a Listed race over this track and trip the time before.
