This is a decent Listed race, and Nights Cross is just preferred to Milk It Mick, with Venetian Pride another to consider. The latter cosily landed a maiden at Hamilton on her debut last month, and the form of that race has worked out particularly well as the third, fourth and fifth have all won since. The Mark Johnston stable has a fine line on the top juvenile form this season and this filly deserves this step up in grade. America America looks set to force the pace in a first time tongue-strap. However, she is not certain to appreciate this return to six furlongs and is held by Nights Cross on Chester form. Venables won a three runner novice event at Kempton last time. He is open to improvement but needs to do so to figure. Milk It Mick was never nearer when fourth in a Group 2 event at Newmarket last week. Jamie Osborne's colt had earlier won at Salisbury and finished a fine third in the Chesham at Royal Ascot. Suited by a stiff six furlongs, he will appreciate this drop in grade and is a big danger here, but we just prefer Nights Cross. Mick Channon's colt was given a fine tactical ride when he made all over this trip at Beverley early this month. Subsequently outpaced when dropped back to five furlongs at Chester, he will appreciate this return to six furlongs and has fine claims receiving five pounds from Milk It Mick
