GLOBAL APPLAUSE finished ahead of last week's Flying Childers second Legendary Lunch on soft going in the Norfolk Stakes at Ascot in June. He was also ahead of Grey Britain, Medici Banchiere and Unabated when fourth in last month's Gimcrack and may be able to take advantage of the absence of Mokarris. The once-raced Harry Angel might need this and the filly Perfect Angel disappointed in a Group 3 at Salisbury last month but the drop to six furlongs could be a good move for Repton. A reproduction of his Vintage Stakes fifth on his penultimate start would be enough to put him in the mix although he obviously has to prove himself on the ground and bounce back from his run in the Solario Stakes.
