In depth

Verdict

The three that appeal most are Royal Rock, Jimmy Styles and Baby Strange with Chris Wall's runner preferred. Heavy rain would bring Sundae into the equation but, as things stand, conditions look ideal for the selection. The ground was probably a shade too fast at Yarmouth for him last time where he also looked as if he needed the run. That he was still good enough to win is testament to his class and a 4lb rise shouldn't be enough to prevent him winning again. Jimmy Styles and Baby Strange, on the other hand, may be good enough to deny him. The former idled in front at Ascot last time and has the potential to rate a good deal better than his current mark whilst the latter made a welcome return to form for his new yard when a close up fourth at Newmarket. Baby Strange has only gone up by a pound for that run behind Off The Record and is greatly feared. It's by no means a three horse race and Signor Peltro is one of the more interesting alternatives. He was held over seven furlongs last time but won at this trip in first time blinkers last year and connections fit a visor for the first time this afternoon. That could work the oracle again but we prefer the claims of Royal Rock.
