Easy Salisbury winner Black Velvet can follow up at the expense of St Andrews Storm and Street Cred, with Indiannie Star worth a mention. Black Velvet created a very favourable impression indeed when making a winning debut at the Wiltshire track two months ago, and should line up fit and ready after his break. The son of Inchinor knew his job and is lined up for a crack at the Gimcrack, having bypassed the Coventry Stakes. First things first though, and he is taken to follow up here. The stable had another first-time-out winner at Kempton on Wednesday evening and he should keep the pot boiling. St Andrews Storm dead-heated on his Newmarket debut and was not disgraced in finishing fourth to Captain Hurricane in the Group 2 July Stakes on a return visit. He has the scope to progress further along with Street Cred who beat a large field at Windsor despite being seemingly unfancied by connections. Indiannie Star can boast plenty of experience but has more on her plate than when scoring at Chepstow and may find conditions too fast anyway. Black Velvet looked the part at Salisbury and can pay to follow.
