Gibraltar Bay can make use of a drop back in trip to see off Sohgol, Mayadeen and Sirce. He probably found 1m6f a bit far for him last time out but this step back to 1m4f should suit and as he has form with a bit of cut in the ground - he should not be inconvenienced should there be any overnight rain. The stable had a winner the other day so there are no problems on that score. Sohgol ran very keenly on a first handicap start but the fact that there was money for Luca Cumani's representative on that day should not be ignored on this. Mayadeen ran a real eyecatcher at Doncaster. A race should not be far from the offing although there look to be others better handicapped. Sirce has always reportedly wanted a mile and a half and is tried over the trip this afternoon. Tawqeet will need to be away better on this occasion than he was at Doncaster. Solaris Quest looks a useful dual purpose horse and should run well at a price. A good race in which Gibraltar Bay secures our selection on balance.
