Any cut in the ground will help Orientor, who unbelievably, is still only a seven-year-old but could still be too wily for the likes of Baltic King and High Reach if he is fully wound up. If Paradise also merits consideration and at least can force his way into the frame if he is still in the same frame of mind he was in at Kempton last month. As a four-year-old, he still has plenty more to offer and is one to seriously monitor this season. High Reach has enjoyed a great start to the 2005 campaign and can continue to pay his way. He is due to go up 4lb from today and, with decent prize-money on offer, he has to take his chance. However, he was a costly horse to follow on occasions last term and needs everything to drop right for him. Texas Gold is a consistent sort when he gets his ground. Unfortunately, every drop of rain will blunt his chance and he may be best left alone this time. Conversely, Orientor will appreciate the anticipated cut in the ground and, with Kieren Fallon back in the saddle, he has every chance to do the business today.
