MARLINKA's a speedball and she can burn off Hooray and Sweet Cecily. She's one of two runners with penalties here but Roger Charlton's filly is on a real roll, following up on a Windsor conditions' stakes win with a Listed success at Vichy. Improving with each start, if she begins as alertly as she has in the past then she may prove a very hard hare to catch. Primo Lady is a solid yardstick but may come up short, a comment that might also apply to Excello (beaten favourite in the Windsor race won by the selection) and Mortitia. Of more interest is Hooray who was a gallant third in the Cherry Hinton and given the enthusiasm she shows when racing it is unlikely that this drop in trip will cause any problems. Sweet Cecily represents the most powerful yard when it comes to juveniles and this Kodiac filly ran with great credit in Group Three company at Ascot; she has a little to prove over this trip but if ridden with restraint by Richard Hughes then she might just pounce on her rivals late on.
