Luca Cumani generally targets this race and has won it twice in recent years. Jordan Princess scored at Newcastle on soft ground last season then could hardly be faulted in finishing runner-up to subsequent Oaks heroine Taghrooda on her return at Newmarket. However, back on soft going at Goodwood, she ran a shocker and finished a long way last behind Marsh Daisy. That wasn't her true running but she has an enormous amount of ground to make up on runner-up EASTERN BELLE. John Gosden's filly has been a bit unlucky to come up against some useful performers and deserves to go one better here. James Bethell doesn't send horses south unless they are thought worthy of the journey so the presence of Haydock winner Belle De Lawers, who was staying on over a mile at York last time, is noted. Queen Of Ice put her unbeaten record on the line in the Musidora at York but failed to settle and had little chance of lasting out the trip, though she did finish in front of Latenightrequest.
