In depth

Verdict

The ground remains soft and that will suit NOLECCE. The latter found only one too good over 1m6f at Nottingham last time but won off a higher mark over today's trip last year. Spanish Plume scored at Wolverhampton in April and Cavalieri won at Catterick in the same month. But both would prefer a faster surface and Merchant Of Medici could prove a bigger threat after making the frame in an amateurs' race here a fortnight ago. Call Of Duty is a dual course and distance winner but is another likely to struggle in the prevailing soft ground.
