    In depth

    Verdict

Light Yield may be able to come out on top in a tricky heat, South O'The Border and Pocket Aces are amongst many others to consider. The selection hails from the in-form Lucy Wadham yard who provided a very easy winner of a handicap at the last meeting here. He's performed with credit when he's had his conditions this season, looks to be on a feasible mark and could find further improvement for the fitting of cheekpieces. Chance Du Roy is up in grade and up in the weights whilst Bob Mountain, Pace Shot, Majaales, Helens Vision and Ship's Hill all have to put at least one moderate run behind them. South O'The Border has won two of his four starts over hurdles and is of interest but he lacks a recent run but of more concern is his suspect stamina; the market may help provide some answers. Pocket Aces benefited from a tactically astute ride from Paddy Brennan to win at Kempton in a race which featured Mexican Pete, Pace Shot and Bob Mountain and may just have been flattered by the way that the race developed but he's open to improvement. Matuhi and Swordsman are as well but they have their share of weight and we're happy to take a chance with Light Yield.
