TACTICIAN is our idea of the most likely winner though Kalypso King and Taqleed also catch the eye. The Queen's colt did not enjoy the clearest of runs at Doncaster on debut but there was lots to like about the performance and with entries in the Racing Post Trophy and The Derby; he needs to win this in order to justify any of those lofty ambitions. Kalypso King is out of that high class dam, Calypso Katie. The step up in trip from six furlongs looks wise on balance. Taqleed is a newcomer from the John Gosden stable that should be noted. He holds no fancy entries though is a son of leading sire, Sharmardal. Primary Colors took part in a decent contest at Newmarket in August and can be expected to build upon those labours. Database was entered for a maiden at Wolverhampton which hardly suggests that he is at the top of the pecking order at Godolphin. John Dunlop won this last year and he is represented by Bombadero. This is a half-brother to Big Bad Bob and is another to hold a Derby entry. Regal Park is a half-brother to Walk In The Park and is one very much to note in the market on introduction. Tactician is our pick.
