Verdict

It could be onwards and upwards for EMPIRE STATE, who overcame trouble in-running to land a Dundalk maiden when dropped to this trip for the first time and should be capable of better. Sundance Star was making her handicap debut and returning from a long break when scoring with a bit in hand at Dundalk so a 5lb rise doesn't look excessive. Aloysius Lilius, a winner at Musselburgh for Kevin Ryan, has his first start for new connections after a very good run at Ripon while My Laureate was always in the front rank on her return to action at Naas and will be suited by dropping back in trip.
