In depth

Verdict

War Brigade has been hurdling though won an amateurs’ race on the Flat at Newbury last year and is only 3lb higher today. He’s preferred to stablemate Jawshan while Contrebasse returns to action also 3lb higher than when scoring over track and trip last summer. Cold Harbour has yet to race on Turf having won at Southwell earlier in the month so ROAR (NAP) makes most appeal in this opener. He was only beaten a length over course and distance three weeks ago and Ed de Giles charge can go one better dropping down a grade for this.
