In depth

Verdict

Catalpa Sail is still a maiden after 13 starts but has gone close on several occasions in decent company. He looks a threat to all but may have to settle for a place again. Balmont Mast returned to action at Dundalk last month and was well supported but failed by just a head to catch Gleadhradh over 7f. He had earlier run over a mile so might find this on the short side. Glendaragh made a promising debut over today's trip at the Curragh last May and his two subsequent defeats came over an extra furlong. He should do well this campaign but AWARENESS may be the one to be on here as Kevin Prendergast's filly made an encouraging start in a Curragh maiden won by Sing Softly and will have benefited greatly from the experience.
