Successful point-to-pointer and dual bumper winner WHISTLE DIXIE started long odds-on for her hurdling debut at Galway in October but was a big disappointment, finding little when headed by Elusive Ivy after travelling well. She may have found the ground too lively as her three victories all came in testing conditions and she gets another chance to put matters right. Gavin Cromwell trains that winner and could have the main threat here with Midnight Theatre, who started favourite on her debut in a Cork bumper in April after landing a point at Horse And Jockey. She's much more likely to make a hurdler and must be kept on the right side. Dual point-to-point winner Simple Steps finished tailed off on her hurdling debut but should have learned plenty while Side Saddle should make progress now sent hurdling after showing a bit of potential in bumpers. Kayf Hampshire has shown enough to merit respect and Knocklayde Sno Cat showed that she stays the trip at Cartmel, though that was back in May.
