In depth

Verdict

The three-year-old Miacomet had Bahlwan just behind when scoring at Cork and a big run from the runner-up in the previous race will give the form a boost. He had earlier finished second behind Royal Canford in a Curragh maiden and is slightly better off at the weights but that was over 6f and the winner has never raced over a trip this short. ASPEN BELLE (NAP) has won six times and probably would have gone close in a much better handicap than this at the Curragh last time but for being impeded. She's on the same mark here and can gain compensation. Medicine Jack wasn't too far behind in that latter event and has now dropped to his lowest-ever mark so could provide the main threat. Zodiacus, another from that Curragh event, was narrowly beaten into third here next time though that was on fast ground.
