The Antarctic won the opening race at this fixture a year ago and landed a Deauville Group 3 before placed efforts at the highest level. He started odds-on for a Listed contest at Navan last month but was put firmly in his place by OCEAN QUEST. The ground was very testing that day, which probably didn't suit the favourite, but the winner was very impressive on just her fourth start and can go in again. Shartash, who was beaten a long way into fourth, took the scalp of the high-class Blackbeard at the Curragh last summer so was undoubtedly affected by the conditions at Navan. Mauiewowie made a nice start to the campaign at Cork and will be winning again soon.
