Verdict
This is sure to be fast and furious, which will suit the back-to-form Bold Minstrel, who edges the nomination over Aahgowangowan and Ptarmigan Ridge. The last named is capable on his day and, having dropped to a very favourable mark, he would be dangerous to rule out to quickly. On the flipside, he needs everything to fall into place for him if he is to bring to an end his 22-race losing run. It has been well documented that Aahgowangowan is in foal to Avonbridge, so has a limited time left to race. Impending motherhood has rekindled her interest in racing, so it would be folly to rule her out. However, Bold Minstrel is another that has really got his act together just now and the top weight looks to have been found a fair opportunity to follow up last month's Windsor success.
