Ashkal Way gets the vote in the opener, with Traprain, Onyergo and Banzine rating as the main dangers. Banzine was well held by an improving type at Haydock eight days ago, but did show up well enough to be given another chance on this type of ground. Joe Fanning keeps the ride and the partnership are worth monitoring in the betting. Onyergo has made the frame in each of his three previous starts and shapes as if he can win a race at some point. He also has experience of the course and has solid each way claims again today. The in-form Michael Jarvis team have landed much bigger Saturday prizes than this, but their representative Traprain should make a bold bid at this level. The drop in trip is expected to suit him and he too cannot be ruled out. However, Askal Way caught the eye on his Kempton debut, in a race that is working out really well. The switch to Brian Ellison's yard is probably to do with his owner's faith in the North Yorkshire-based trainer. Some of which can be rewarded if Ashkal Way does himself justice this afternoon.
