Top weight Claradotnet has been running into form recently and is taken to defy the burden of 9st 10lb and give weight away to his rivals, the best of who may be Alpine Special and Romil Star. The last mentioned has gone up 4lbs for his win in an apprentices' handicap at Catterick two weeks ago and, along with Alpine Special, would not mind any further rain. Jim Goldie's Cosmic Case remains feasibly well treated on her best and was not disgraced at Hamilton last time. She has more solid claims than Red Forest, who looks to be in the grip of the handicapper at present. Linda Perratt's Sherwood Forest showed improved form for today's rider when a staying on second on her first try at two miles here last time and could be interesting if in the same mood again. The vote though goes to Claradotnet. Mick Channon's filly just failed to catch Spitting Image at Redcar last time and off the same mark today has an obvious chance of going one better for the experienced Sam Hitchcott.
