Verdict
Hiccups can gain compensation for a very good run in the St Wilfrid Handicap and gets our vote here ahead of Strensall, Musical Fair, Roxanne Mill and True Magic. Given that the St Wilfrid winner, Smokin Beau, has kept on winning, there was no disgrace on the part of Hiccups in being beaten in that valuable and hugely-competitive Ripon handicap. It also rates as solid form and he is sure to have plenty of supporters back at this five-furlong trip. While Blue Crush has not shown much since his juvenile winning days in Ireland and with Dame de Noche, although back to a winning mark, not having won at less than seven furlongs, then Strensall and Musical Fair, who are both just two pounds above winning marks, and Roxanne Mill, closely-weighted with Strensall on May form, can both be given chances. However, Catch The Cat looks held on the form of that same race. Another to consider is True Magic, who is lightly raced and has come good in each of his last two races but, overall, for the winner we look to Hiccups.
