Verdict
Comical Errors is no great shakes on the flat as was shown again by a recent heavy defeat in banded stakes company at Southwell but Pat Haslam's gelding as already shown more than enough in two starts over hurdles to suggest that he should be more than capable of beating today's rivals, with Madge and Best Game of the remainder rated the best of a pretty poor bunch. Madge would look to be the main danger judged by her second behind the selection's stablemate Vocative at Haydock earlier this month. She certainly makes more appeal than Howard Johnson's Tarkar, who gave little cause for optimism on his racecourse debut at Newcastle. Grandma's Girl could be of interest first time out over hurdles and warrants respect but lack of experience is of concern and of more interest may be Best Game, who showed promise at Fakenham on his hurdling debut last week. Comical Errors has easily the best form of those to have raced over hurdles though and looks to have been found a suitable contest to open his account.
