A very moderate affair can go to Burnley Al, with Wayward Shot, Orpendonna and Royal Pardon all worth a mention. Burnley Al has been placed in three of his last four starts, and is taken to make amends after just missing out last week at Ayr, where the fitting of cheekpieces nearly had the desired effect. Racing from three-pounds out of the handicap and with Royston Ffrench putting up another pound overweight, it took a sterling effort by the in-form Dream Tonic to deny him. Racing off his correct mark here, and partnered by Tony Hamilton, he can benefit from the slight drop back in trip to open his account at the 11th time of asking. On a line through Dream Tonic, Wayward Shot, Orpendonna and Ming Vase have it to on Thirsk running. Royal Pardon showed up well on her first outing for Richard Guest at Hamilton and is back over seven furlongs again, but Burnley Al can come out on top.
