Bridal Path is selected to beat Mint, with Howards Prince, Smart Cassie and Thoughtsofstardom making for a competitive nursery. There are certainly many in with chances here, but Sir Mark Prescott's Bridal Path caught the eye with the manner of her all-the-way maiden success at Chepstow last time, and off a mark of 72 for her debut in this grade, the daughter of Groom Dancer makes plenty of appeal. She has responded well since being fitted with blinkers, and she can get into the lead early from her low draw ahead of Mint and Lyndalee, both of whom also like to crack out in front. Mint did not do a great deal wrong when managing to hold on at Thirsk last time out and should give a good account, while Howards Prince is another that forced the pace when scoring at Hamilton last time, but he has his share of weight. Smart Cassie takes a big drop in grade after contesting a Group 3 at Goodwood, but has topweight to overcome, while Thoughtsofstardom did not get the best of runs behind Saxon Saint at Brighton recently and could easily figure as well. However, Sir Mark Prescott has a good strike-rate with his juveniles at Musselburgh, and Bridal Path, a half-sister to the stable's Group winner Cupid's Glory, can add to the tally.
