      Verdict

The market should help in this finale but without that information we are happy to side with newcomer STETSON ahead of Rock 'N Rose and Steel Edge. This doesn't look too hot a race and Alan Swinbank's prolific record with bumper horses means that Stetson tops the list. A son of Groom Dancer, he is related to several winners on the flat and his speedy pedigree could hand him the advantage over Steel Edge. He is bred to jump obstacles and did well to finish as close as he did on his debut here when fifth to Definite All Star. He should be wiser today but may prefer a stiffer track. Market support for Bunacurry would be interesting, as it would for Geoff Harker's son of Daylami, Amuse Me. Turner Brown has two runs under his belt already; he has not threatened to win either but he should strip fitter for his latest effort at Southwell. Psalm Twentythree is a newcomer to keep a close eye on in the betting for a shrewd outfit, whilst similar comments apply to the filly Polarity. Rock 'N Rose shaped with plenty of promise when fifth to Bold Sir Brian at Ayr in December and should appreciate the longer trip today, however Stetson is fancied to head them all home.
