Howards Princess can land a competitive renewal ahead of Glencairn Star, Plateau, Lady Bahia and Our Little Secret to name but a few. Howards Princess has been brought along steadily this season and was sent off as favourite on her latest engagement on Tuesday at Hamilton where she looked all over the winner before failing to get past Limonia, going down by three-parts of a length. That was in claiming company, and it can be argued that this is tougher, but as she did not return to action until May, Ian Semple's mare should now be spot on, and in addition will be suited by this drop back in trip. At the likely odds, she is a sporting selection. Glencairn Star has been in good form of late, winning two of his last three starts, including here the time before last. He is going up the weights, but has another race in him. Dandy Nicholls saddles both Plateau and last year's winner Rudi's Pet, and of the pair, preference is for Plateau who stayed on too late to catch the winner at Chester last time. Lady Bahia did nothing wrong here last time, but is upped in grade. She should at least hold Our Little Secret again but is passed over, with Howards Princess getting the speculative nod.
