Verdict
Cote d'Argent has ran with promise in all three starts so far on fast ground and, with the likelihood of improvement to come on today's slightly softer surface, he gets the vote ahead of Best Double and Beauchamp United. The last mentioned disappointed on soft ground at York last time and could be of interest on today's surface, while Westport has to be respected first time out given the form of John Gosden's horses. Avoca Dancer a stablemate of the selection should pick up a small race somewhere but this looks too tough and of more interest may be James Bethell's Lucidity Light who has improved with each start. For the third time in his brief career, Best Double found just one too good last time and is becoming expensive to follow so preference is for Cote d'Argent, who has done little wrong and looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account.
