      Verdict

      After being caught on the line by Lytham St Annes last month, PIRATE'S COVE went one better when making all over the track and trip. He's up 4lb but it's difficult to see anything catching him in this mood. Taamol returned from an absence to score over 7f in November and his subsequent runs have been over a mile so he may just find this a bit sharp. Beachcomber Bay is improving rapidly and looks a big threat on his handicap debut as he followed a narrow defeat over the course and distance with a very easy victory at Jebel Ali. Nine Below Zero won three times on Turf for Ralph Beckett and was only just beaten on his last start for the yard at Kempton in October. Yard Line would have an outstanding chance on his close third in a much better race than this a year ago and, though not in that kind of form, has been racing in strong company.
