        Verdict

        Premier Star is an interesting runner for Doug Watson having won easily at Monmouth Park in October following a good run in a Saratoga Grade 2. The stable also run Canvassed, who was impressive when dropping back to this trip for the first time last month and easily beating Important Mission. The latter had beaten Bochart in a track and trip Listed contest in December and should do so again while GOOD EFFORT will be better for his debut here in January. The winner of five all-weather races, he'll be ridden by Frankie for the first time and can return to winning ways. Upper Class, a regular winner in Uruguay, was behind in that latter event but is another who will have come on plenty for the run.
