J'ADHERE is worth a shot in this company. Savaronola could be perilous to underestimate and should be monitored closely, while Ibrox and Mountskip are also worth bearing in mind. Mountskip won an amateur riders' contest at Hexham last month and has been kept busy since then. His rider was knocked out of the saddle on his latest start, so it would be harsh to say his jumping is questionable on that evidence. Wilson Renwick renews acquaintances this afternoon so there are positive moves afoot to aid his chances today. Ibrox paid his way with three wins on the level but has yet to show he is capable of repeating the feat over jumps. This is the right grade for him, though. And a bold effort cannot be ruled out. Prior to winning on the all-weather last month; Savaronola had shown very little since he joined Barney Curley. And he would be hard to fancy were he under the tutelage of almost any other trainer. However, he does have experience of the jumping game and, given Curley's impeccable eye for an opening, this fellow is very likely to be a popular choice today. However, this may also help to make the odds available about J'Adhere a touch more appealing. The five-year-old is holding his form well just now and, having been caught for a change of gear here last time out, the step back to two miles is expected to ideally suit the Tim Vaughan-trained top weight.
