Invitado looks the one to beat here with Cork Harbour and Bachelors Pad the others for the shortlist. The selection produced a career best effort on this track last month when finishing third to Pompeii, and a reproduction of that should be good enough here. He has since disappointed at Soutwell but still looks to have solid claims. The main danger is likely to be Cork Harbour who unseated Richard Johnson at Sedgefield on his last appearance over hurdles. He was the favourite on that day so would have a serious chance if he jumps the obstacles as he was leading when he unshipped his rider. He has since had a couple of disappointing runs on the flat but has a chance based on his form over hurdles. Bachelors Pad is the other to catch the eye and he beat our selection at Southwell last time, but he is inconsistent and cannot be relied upon. Maundy Roller could also be interesting if the market speaks in his favour, but we are happy to side with Invitado who will be hard to beat if he reproduces his last effort on this track.
